Jay Grimes joins OOIDA's Washington, D.C., office

OOIDA has announced that Jay Grimes has joined OOIDA's Washington, D.C., office as manager of federal affairs. He will be sharing responsibility for advancing the Association's government affairs agenda.

He is originally from Fairfax, Va., and graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in history.

He began his career in Washington as a press assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Armed Services, under the late Chairman Ike Skelton, D-Mo. He subsequently served as director of congressional affairs and communications for Twenty-First Century Group, a bipartisan government affairs consulting firm founded by former Congressman Jack Fields, R-Texas. During his time in D.C., Grimes has worked on a variety of transportation issues and has represented multiple trade associations before Congress.

"Jay has a wealth of experience working on Capitol Hill and thoroughly understands the legislative and regulatory processes," said OOIDA Director of Government Affairs Laura O'Neill-Kaumo. "He will be a valued asset in Washington and Grain Valley."

O'Neill-Kaumo leads OOIDA's government affairs team in D.C. Along with Grimes, her staff includes Director of Legislative Affairs Ben Siegrist.

OOIDA's government affairs staff also includes Director of State Legislative Affairs Mike Matousek, and Director of Regulatory Affairs Scott Grenerth. Matousek and Grenerth are based at OOIDA headquarters in Grain Valley, Mo. Both of the Association's government affairs teams – D.C. and Grain Valley – are directed by OOIDA Executive Vice President Todd Spencer. LL
